I Need To Live For Me!

Kevin Robinson was a guest on my podcast, Breakfear FindFreedom. I was struck by Kevin’s inner strength and outer calmness, the first time I met him. In this virtual world, we usually see what people want to show us. We see it from the waist up on our computer screens. Kevin’s shoulders cover the entire zoom box. He is a big man. However, we still cannot tell what is underneath. For Kevin, this is tantamount to his story…. we discover later!

This is his story.

The ball bounces on the tarmac. It’s fast, and the thumping reverberates into his heart, adrenalin spinning through his body. He tastes the excitement. The sense of focus where nothing matters. It is only him in union with his basketball and the net. The world falls away , The ball and his heart are bouncing in synch, dancing in unison. The screaming crowd is on the fringes of his awareness, leaking into his consciousness. He smiles, and reaches for the basket as the ball slips inside. His feet knock on the ground as he descends. This breaks his trance, this invisible energy regenerates within him and the volume of the crowd is turned up. He grins and high fives his friend Dino. The hitting of outstretched hands carries him to the reality. Two friends playing basketball in the park. They laugh together with fun. No one knows his secret until now. However, his dream is never to be…
