Get Out Of Your Own Way
I take the plunge and publish my campaign on Publishizer with a few challenges in the mix, No list, no engaged social media presence and no money. I’ve run around with this in my head for a while and only accomplished panic and distraction and procrastination, vacillating between them. When is the right time? it’ll never be that perfect time, Yes I can wait to have a massive list, and a huge following and lots of money but there will always be boulders along the way created by myself just like these at this moment. So with a brave face and the thought of, if not now when? and a faint glimmer of hope with the idea to flip the fear and turn this into a fun project, try different angles and play. An opportunity to share insights, short stories, and ideas along the way, and create a learning filled, fun, environment. I’m stoked!
My phone rings, a distraction from writing this vulnerable piece, it’s my friend, she is frantic, and she needs to talk. I drop everything and meet her in the park; I love reveling in nature as often as possible. She’s at a crossroads in her business and I ask her, What do you want with this business? And then? and then? and when you get there what then? she has to get a clear picture of what she wants.
